Motorola reintroduces the Moto G Stylus 5G for 2025 With Major Upgrades

Motorola is bringing back its popular Moto G Stylus 5G, and the 2025 model is geared up to impress fans of stylus-equipped smartphones.
This year’s edition focuses on overall enhancements, including advanced AI tools, upgraded cameras, a brighter display, and improved stylus performance — all while holding its accessible price of $399.99.
Under the hood, the new Moto G Stylus 5G runs on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip, a step up from last year’s Gen 1 processor. While RAM remains at 8GB, storage now goes up to 256GB — doubling the 128GB offered by its predecessor.
The 6.7-inch pOLED screen retains the same size and 120Hz refresh rate but gets a significant brightness boost. The 2025 model can reach up to 3,000 nits, a major leap from the 1,200 nits peak brightness seen on the 2024 version.
In the camera department, Motorola is introducing a 50MP system featuring the Sony Lytia 700C sensor — a first for the Moto G Stylus line. The primary lens includes optical image stabilization, complemented by a 13MP ultra-wide camera with macro capabilities, and a 32MP front-facing camera designed for high-quality selfies.
Motorola has also refined the stylus experience. The latest version offers over six times the responsiveness of last year’s, making note-taking, sketching, and precision tasks more seamless. Coupled with the upgraded processor, this enables smarter AI features.
One of those features is “Sketch to Image,” integrated into the Moto Note app, which transforms hand-drawn sketches into AI-generated artwork. Users can also utilize Google’s “Circle to Search” by circling any on-screen image to get instant information. Additionally, AI editing tools from Google Photos are now accessible for enhanced photo edits.
Charging performance also sees an upgrade. The device still houses a 5,000mAh battery but now supports 68W fast wired charging and 15W wireless charging. Note that the charger isn’t included in the box.
The 2025 Moto G Stylus 5G now has an IP68 water resistance rating, meaning it can be submerged in up to 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes without damage.
Finally, it will be offered in stylish new color options inspired by Pantone — including Gibraltar Sea and Surf the Web — and will feature a textured, leather-like finish. The unlocked version becomes available starting April 17 via Amazon, Best Buy, and Motorola’s own site, with broader retail rollout to follow.
